RICK ERB
Ministering
in Ukraine, Serving with BCM Int'l
Rick is another native son. Born in Phoenixville, he
was raised in Royersford and grew up in The Bible Fellowship Church of
Royersford and graduated from Spring-Ford High School. Following
graduation, Rick attended college at LeTourneau College is Longview,
Texas, as well as at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA.
Rick’s first major effort with ministry began in 1980 as he assisted with
the AWANA program, but it wasn’t until 1982 that he received the faith
through which the grace of the Lord blessed his life. This new faith was,
as Rick recalls, genuine and personal.
Over the next 13 years, Rick spent his working hours at SmithKline
Clinical Laboratories and continued to minister in the local community
through his involvement with The Bible Fellowship Church of Royersford. He
was elected to the Board of Elders in 1991 and taught the junior high
Sunday School class.
Rick had his first experience in the former Soviet Union in 1995 during a
one-year mission with the organization Co-Mission. The year in Vologda,
Russia, literally awoke him to the needs of the vast and ancient land.
Upon his return, Rick determined to continue his studies, attending Moody
Bible Institute for two semesters. Although he didn’t return to Russia
immediately, his burden for the people of that land continued to weigh
upon his spirit.
Rick returned to the mission field in September 2002, serving in Ukraine
in the city of Donetsk with
BCM International.
